Internationally recognized as an exponent of the Zulu musical culture, Madala Kunene, born in Cato Menor (South Africa), as a child lived with his family the horrors of apartheid and his beginnings as a guitarist were extremely difficult. The identification with his roots led him to deepen the indigenous musical tradition in Durban, appearing often in compilations since the mid-90s and recording his first album "Konko Man" in 2000. From that moment Mandala Kunene travels the world as "king of Zulu guitar", clearly showing where the most ancient roots of blues music come from.
