In the Austin scene from his beginnings in the mid-seventies, Jimmy Vaughan, born in Dallas in 1951, is by his own right, the current world ambassador of the legacy of Texan guitarists like Lightnin Hopkins, T-Bone Walker, Freddie King or Johnny "Guitar" Watson. His style of composing and playing guitar are unmistakable for any aficionado and, although outside the Fabulous Thunderbirds his discography has been short, the six albums published since 1994 are, together with this "Baby Please Come Home", all major works of a guitarist of deep Texas roots that has contributed decisively in the diffusion of this style of playing the blues.
