Like countless other projects, this album was conceived during the pandemic. Born in 1976 in New York, Chris Bergson is, in addition to being a musician, professor of guitar at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, and an accomplished artist. After moving with his family to Boston, a city where he played in several rock bands, he returned to NYC at the age of eighteen to settle permanently. He began professionally as a jazz guitarist, although soon Miike Bloomfield's guitar riffs learned from the album "Father & Sons", which his parents gave him when he was ten years old, took on relevance in his guitar playing. In 1997 he recorded his first solo album "Blues For Some Friends Of Mine" which was followed by two more albums until the mid-2000s when he formed the Chris Bergson Band, established a personal and professional relationship with keyboardist Dave Keyes, together they played with Hubert Sumlin and Levon Helm and recording the band's first album "Fall Changes" at Helm's studios in Woodstock, being one of the band's best release. Bergson has performed several times in Europe and Africa. Mid-2010 soul singer Ellis Hooks intermittently joined the band and can be heard singing on the live album "Live at Jazz Standard". In addition to being an exceptional and convincing guitarist, Bergson stands out for his ability to compose magnificent songs, a mix of blues, soul and gospel that credit him among the most complete and visceral composers of his generation and at the head of the New York blues scene. This album is a perfect example of all of this.
