I don't know exactly how to define currently the term "Americana", but if an album comes close to having this musical meaning it's "Damn Good And Ready" by Chickerbone Slim & The Biscuits. American roots music, black music, swing, rock'n'roll, a sip of country and a lot of feeling. Based in San Diego (CA), born Larry Teves founded The Biscuits in 2012 and in just ten years he has established himself as one of the most dynamic and admired musicians in all the States, with five albums released he's well known throughout the blues circuit from coast to coast and his reputation grows with each of his live performances. For this work, for sure his best to date, he traveled to Kid Andersen's Greaseland studios in San Jose, California, both co-producing the album, and he had the undisputed queen of blues guitar Laura Chavez, the renowned session drummer Marty Dodson and the young and rising bassist Justice Guevera. This album is flammable gas, it explodes with rhythm in every chord, it's a true winning bet for the best contemporary roots music and Chickenbone Slim is the loudest rooster in the pen.
