Another museum piece to add to the collection of essential works of contemporary blues music. Bob Corritore has been helped by thirty-nine musicians to offer us an almost insurpassed color palette, surrendering to classics among others by Willie Dixon, JB Lenoir, Pops Staples or a wonderful cover of Bob Dylan's "I Shall Be Release" sung by the supreme vocalist Francine Reed. Vizztone Label continues to work with the Chicago harmonica player after the reissue of three of his fantastic albums recorded with Dave Riley, Kid Ramos and Henry Gray, to present us now this "Spider In My Stew", fourteen exuberant pieces of the most convincing and persuasive blues that a collective of musicians can offer today. Getting ahead of events and listening to this album means enjoying possibly the best album of 2021.
