Jake Calypso (Hervé Loison), composer, guitarist and singer, and Thierry Sellier on drums, are a two man band formed in northern France in 2007, who were joined in 2013 by harmonica player Mister Ruine-B to complete the combo. Behind the name Wild Boogie Combo hides Jake Calypso's need to play the blues after years of playing rockabilly and rock'n'roll with his band Hot Chickens since the late 1990s. This is their second studio album, recorded in one shot in a 10-square-foot room, revitalizing the rural and electric sounds of the music from northern Mississippi area known as Hill Country Blues. The updated Burnside and Kimbrough tradition, syncopated rhythms and juke joint boogie-woogie licks harmonize ten original songs of this amazing album that above all reveals three magnificent musicians in love with the music they are playing.
