Born in Belton(SC) in 1963, Wanda Johnson, one of the nine daughters of the family, was always on the ball to the musical tradition that surrounded her childhood, beginning to sing near home in the mid 90's and  starting a professional career that, step step by step, has led her to be recognized nationally for her powerful and emotional voice, crossing borders and acting in Europe and China, a road that has deserved a certain international recognition for her quality and projection as an artist. To date she has released five albums, the first one published in 2003 until the last one "Slow Down", which I would not dare to say that it's her best work - the previous ones are splendid - but it's the most personal and introverted of Wanda Johnson until today . Genuine and powerful blues next to beautiful and penetrating soul ballads, this is "Slow Down" by Mss. Wanda, a splendid present.
