It's a good place for blues music in Finland. With a scene in motion, international festivals, an alive record production and a compact and select legion of fans, the Nordic country doesn't stop giving excellent musicians as well as blues albums that go beyond the interesting. Micke Bjorklof (1965) and Lefty Leppänen (1966) are an obvious example. In 1997 they started playing together in the band that Bjorklof had founded in 1991 called "Micke Bjorklof & Blue Strip", while in parallel they made their own live performances as a duo. In 2004 they released their first recording and since then their professional career has been constantly improving. With the incorporation of mate Chef Kivimäki they completed the band and in 2010 they released the second album, making the leap outside their country and strengthening themselves as a band. In 2012 were semifinalists in the IBC edition, following by performances to several European countries and a majority recognition to their work. It's folk music, make no mistake, it's blues music, don't hesitate. These three guys have given a few more revolutions to the motor that makes the root- music keep rolling around the world.
