Durwood Christopher Thomas, known as Chris Thomas King, was born in Baton Rouge (LA) in 1962. Son of guitarist Tabby Thomas, a Louisiana blues legend, he has been a revolutionary since his beginnings in the early 1980s, highlighting the connection between the traditional blues music and the evolution of black music in all conceptions. Chris Thomas King is a 21st century bluesman, where Son House or Skip James can be found on the same song with Public Enemy or RUN D.M.C. not only without sounding an alarm but achieving an effective transition that is as bold and modern as predictable. In "Angola" the musician puts himself at the service of the protest struggle of the "Black Lives Matter" community after the murder of George Floyd, with incisive lyrics and a clearly explicit stance in favor of the rights of the black population, a theme as old as the blues itself This is undoubtedly an album loaded not only with good music but with solidarity and transgression.
