Renee Flemings voice deserves a separate comment. Together with Salvatore Carolei (Harmonica) they have been playing together for this decade under the name Renee & The Derelicts, having released an album in 2014. Now they step forward as Alias Smith & Jones with the release of "Hit & Run" which , with the essential help of the ensemble The Button Man, they open a powerful sunshine to us in the vast and sometimes dark panorama of contemporary blues rock. This is a splendid album, with some extraordinary musicians and above all a female singer who leaves you exhausted, ten songs a mixture of blues, rock and a bit of boogie that should not catch you off guard.
