The best music needs the best musicians. Roots music also needs the most charismatic. Jade BennetT and Gino Matteo met in 2010 and the spark flew. They immediately noticed that they had a personal character to play together. Gino joined Sugaray Rayford's road band as a guitarist and Jade joined them as a backing vocalist. In 2007 Matteo released a first solo album "I've Been Thinkin'" and over the next decade he released one more album, "Sweet Revival" and an EP, "Huge The Cactus", while Jade released the album "Death Time Love". In 2020 they left everything and finally decided to launch the BenneTt Matteo Band common project and go into the studio to record this "Shake The Roots", the pandemic delayed its release and finally this year it has seen the light. It will be difficult to find an album as good as this one, we are talking about two superlative musicians, a supreme guitarist and a deep and soulful singer. With the Kid Andersen production, who also participated in the recording, "Shake The Roots" really shakes the listener, soul, funk, blues, all timeless, masterfully composed songs by themselves and in each of them is the magic of the black roots music. It's the magic of good music played by terrific musicians.
