Ayelen Beker's life is a personal story of drama and crisis. It's latent evidence of the uprooting that transsexual people have suffered and continue to suffer. She has lived as a sex worker and still today she continues to working on it, when music does not allow her to pay the bills and in any other job she is discriminated against only because of her appearance. Ayelen Beker is an artist created from herself, no one has been able to prevent her musical vocation, her aptitude and nature as a singer, from having led her to overcome all frustration and vicissitude and become a recognized performer in her country and pour into her songs all the rage, despair and pessimism accumulated throughout her life. She started out as a boleros and tangos singer but it was her devotion to cumbia folklore that allowed her to debut on more frequented stages with a combination of sweeping vocal strength and stage presence. After the successful release of a first cumbias album, Beker decided to take a step further and open a parenthesis in her repertoire, she sought the support of the Argentinian rock band Dissidenten and developing a project in which, under a modern cabaret format, she present on stage her new songs conceived with a spectrum of jazz and blues structures. "Cabaret Quir" picks up one of those performances and shows the chameleonic abilities of this woman who, without trying to set herself up as any crooner, presents to us as an fierce singer and exquisite songwriter.
