Guadalquivir river smells of flamenco and blues. During its passage through Seville (Spain), the capital of Andalusia, a region that occupies a large part of southern country, its waters have warmed the best "tablaos" from which great figures of the guitar, "cante" and flamenco dance have emerged for decades, but also since the eighties of the last century the river flow has contaminated blues music in Spain. From those years on, the pioneers Caledonia Blues Band emerged in Seville, led by Lolo Ortega and Mingo Balaguer, who released in 1989 one of the first albums by a blues band in the country, "Just Rhythm & Blues" (only one year previously "Stratto Blues" by the Barcelona harmonica player Harmonica Zummel had been released), or the band Pata Negra, with the brothers Rafael and Raimundo Amador, advanced musicians who broke the orthodox schemes fusing flamenco and blues with the release of the album "Guitarras Callejeras" in 1985. In these contexts, Andalusia and Seville have continued to be the birthplace of numerous blues musicians and bands that have kept this genre alive and in good shape in Spain. On Christmas 1997 another blues band emerged, Andabluses, led by the singer and guitarist Jose Mari Pardo and some true connoisseurs of the subtlety of the twelve bars. Now they celebrate their twenty-five years of survival with the release of  "25 Aniversario - Bluespower" in which you find them as consolidated as effervescent, in eight revealing songs of the power and conviction of a five-piece band with a background and a sensibility for blues music beyond any doubt. This is their fourth album in a career of endless performances in small clubs and large festivals throughout the country, which has earned them recognition as one of the most solid and effective blues proposals in Spain. And all from the banks of the Gualssissippi river.
